Vedic Astrology is known, in Sanskrit, as Jyotish which means “Science of Light.” It is one of the earliest systems of astrology and has records dating back to 6,000 years BCE.
Jyotish can also be referred to as Hindu Astrology or Eastern Astrology. I prefer to use Vedic Astrology because of its ancient connection to the teachings of Ayurveda and Yoga. These connections give us a more proactive system of studying the planets because the inclusion of Ayurveda and Yoga gives us tools to work with the planetary patterns that affect our lives.
Change is the truest constant of life on this planet and yet, one of the many ironies of human sensibility, change is often what people resist the most. The historical pace of today’s life is fast and filled with change that can be overwhelming for many. The constant changes and fast pace can bring fear, uncertainty, and stress, all of which contribute to physical, mental, and emotional problems.
None of us can control the pace of life, stop the changes, or force the outer world to be what we want it to be. We, can however, understand higher principles and find the tools to keep ourselves steady as we move through these historic times. There are a variety of methods and systems to help us gain the peace of equilibrium. Jyotish is one of those systems.
I have over thirty years of experience working with Vedic Astrology, Yoga, Ayurveda and Tarot. I was Level 3 certified in Raj-Kundalini Yoga and have received certificates for study with David Frawley as well as Dennis Flaherty. I have been designated as a “Jyotish Visharada” by the Council of Vedic Astrology and am authorized to teach for the Council.
You are invited to discover how Jyotish can help light the path of your life’s journey by scheduling an appointment and learning what the planets in your chart are telling you.
