Just like here on planet earth our celestial planets are very busy and can even seem as erratic as our so-called “leaders.”
I will mention that Mars is now debilitated and will be so until he moves into Leo on June 6th. Mars has been difficult since late October. Mars will continue to be an annoying factor until June 6th but he is not the big news.

The big news right now is Saturn and Rahu. Saturn entered the constellation of Pisces right after the solar eclipse of 3/29 and immediately lined up with Rahu. He will remain in Pisces until February of 2028. Saturn is a planet which has a point and is known for truth, wisdom and detachment. A part of his agenda is to show us the reality that exists within ourselves and to not count on external circumstances for our happiness or security.

This conjunction is relevant to all who live on this planet. However, for those who live in America, the energy is more intense because the USA chart has an Aquarian Moon and Saturn’s movement into Pisces ends the approximately 3-year conjunction of Saturn on our Moon.

The Moon is very important in a chart as it indicates the mind, emotions and karma to name just a few areas of life. The Moon is also indicative of the “people” of a country. One of the areas of agreement between Eastern and Western astrology is the teaching that when transit Saturn is conjunct the Moon in a chart luck seems to run away to be replaced by challenges according to the karmas of the chart.

It was under this conjunction that the country ended up with a treasonous administration. We will not get much relief until the end of May when the pile-up of planets in the sign of Pisces ends. Jupiter moves into Gemini on May 15th and is a much better placement for the US. The Nodal points move from Virgo/Pisces to Leo/Aquarius on May 19th.
Moving back to the position of Saturn and his long transits through Capricorn, Aquarius and now Pisces. Capricorn is the 12th house to the Aquarian Moon and one of the indications of the 12th house is illness and Saturn was in that 12th house when Covid hit the world and health was a big issue. By the time Saturn moved into Aquarius we had a new President who was able to restore some order along with improving the economy. However, Saturn was still conjunct the Moon. The misinformation continued along with the whining about vaccinations and government over-reach.
Over the past few decades, the average American has had little lobbying power in D.C. except for what the Democratic party tries to do. However, Democrats simply don’t have the messaging power of the GOP. The GOP continued to put out misinformation along with fanning the flames of the American people’s anger. As crazy as it seems we now have the same man who mishandled the pandemic creating havoc on as many aspects of American law and life that he can.

In Vedic Astrology Saturn is considered the Ruler of Aquarius which can be problematic. Aquarius is responsible for universal thinking, technology, science and innovation. Here in America, we’ve been fortunate in the positive side of Aquarius but the lust for money is the dark side of this sign. That dark side played a role in electing a convicted felon to the White House. For whatever reason people believe Trump is a good businessman despite the six bankruptcies his inherited company filed but many also believe that the economy does better under the GOP. The only people who do better are billionaires but far too many people seem to believe that it’s important to give them what they want. The financial concern was an excuse to live out the weird fantasy of America being God’s gift to white people. People ignored the truth, and we now find ourselves in a fight to save Democracy. Saturn is truth and discernment – two qualities out of favor currently.

So, the yoke of Saturn’s determination to show us the truth led to a massive error on 11/5/24 but now Saturn is in Pisces and the energy is different. Pisces is our most spiritual sign and is a sign of creativity, kindness, music and healing. The question is does America pick up what Saturn is trying to tell us? We can change the current trajectory and that is what Saturn is trying to tell us to do. Money is not the reason we were born and has nothing to do with the essence of being a human being.

The dark side to Pisces is intoxication, addiction, depression and massive dishonesty. If people choose not to go higher by embracing the positive qualities of Pisces the lessons will be harsh and long-lasting. As a country we put a convicted felon in charge because of a desire to lower taxes on stocks, to get the “libs” or because of a delusional belief that we can go back to 1850 when they “think” life was good. The challenge of this country has always been to live up to the “values” of our constitution opposed to earning money, enslaving others and harshness. What choice will be made?

Most astrologers like to look at times in history when planetary patterns repeat themselves. The last time Saturn and Rahu were conjunct in Pisces was from January of 1968 to May of 1969 a long period of 16 months. During that time Martin Luther King was killed in April, Robert Kennedy was killed in June and the Democrats held a disastrous convention which nominated Hubert Humphrey to run for President. Despite the energized protests over the Viet Nam War and Civil Rights that took place in downtown Chicago the “bosses” insisted on Humphrey instead of the people’s choice of Eugene McCarthy. It was during this time that the Democratic party chose to become the housekeepers who come in after Republican administrations to clean up the mess. It was only the liberals like MLK and RFK who were being killed and it could be argued that the Democrats became frightened and in the process of embracing meekness they handed the megaphone to the GOP. The Republican message machine allowed them to claim fake religiousness along with the lie of them being the party of law and order. They have been so good at their messaging that even law enforcement and the military began to believe the lies. Nothing, for me, is quite as hypocritical as watching people working for the government and taking healthy pensions now stand for an administration which is determined to destroy the government and line their pockets. I suppose that it is either skin color or healthy portfolios which allow them to embrace oligarchs destroying America.

It is now 58 years past that fateful time. The alignment between Rahu/Saturn will be over in May of this year which is a good thing. Will Americans shift gears and realize that you can’t put a convicted felon and six-time bankrupt person in charge of a country? Will Americans realize that we can do better by upholding our idealistic values than to keep voting selfishly for the disproved trickle-down theory? Will Americans begin to accept that except for Native and African Americans every single person arrived here via immigration?
Rahu will be leaving Pisces on 5/19 when he enters the sign of Aquarius while Ketu will be in the sign of Leo. They will occupy this axis for approximately 18 months. Rahu is known for stealing a bit of the ambrosial/eternal nectar of the Gods and that desire can cause all sorts of problems in charts. Rahu is a big influence in addiction problems, neurosis and greed. Rahu is also known for technology, freedom and surprising results. In the chart of America Rahu is a big influence and was an influence in the original Revolutionary War as well as the climb to monetary power. Rahu is a player in the movie and entertainment world. Unfortunately, when America merged (for money) journalism with entertainment the doorway to misinformation opened and the results have not been good.

Ketu is always active along with Rahu, but Ketu is a different influence. He is very scientific, can be very spiritual and is not dependent on money and material items for happiness. When Ketu enters Leo he will offer all of us on this planet an opportunity to understand that the ego is just one part of a human being. Saturn will be trying to teach us that It is the inner qualities of kindness, consciousness and decency which open the door to inner peace and equanimity.

Jupiter will occupy Gemini for approximately one year (May 15th ingress date). Jupiter is a fortunate influence in America’s chart. In the natal chart Jupiter occupies the 7th house which is diplomacy, partners and legal matters. My wish is that Americans decide to take back the legal standards of this country. Surely even those who watch their stocks would wish for this country not to be taken over by dictators. It was this freedom from selfish monarchies which propelled the very creation of our country. The desire for happiness has been misinterpreted to mean that without “pursuit” Americans are entitled to whatever they think is the desire that will make them free. Real freedom comes from the knowledge of the fact that human beings are more than their bank accounts.

Ultimately, the planets are always trying to direct us to the knowledge of self. The teachings of the ancient Vedic scholars taught all about the inner self, chakras and auras. Modern science now backs these ancient teachings and there is no better teacher of these truths than the mighty Saturn. There is never any loss when we operate through the kind compassion of the Pisces energy and now is the time for all of us to pay attention.
